About Us

Fourth Century Farms is a family-owned business based in Pennsylvania's beautiful Cumberland Valley.  Since the late 1700's, our family has lived and worked the land in this valley and as we began our fourth century, we decided it was time to share our products and way of life with the world.  Each bar of soap is hand-crafted using milk from our own grass-fed herd of goats.  These animals are housed in our centuries old barn on land that has been in our family for generations.  All of our soaps are naturally rich in vitamins and minerals and they moisturize even the driest skin.  Feel free to browse our store and drop us a line with any questions.

Why Goat Milk Soap?

Goat milk is one of nature’s finest moisturizers and has excellent emollient properties. Our grass-fed, raw goat milk contains vitamin A, and several B vitamins including riboflavin, niacin, B6, B12. Alpha-hydroxy acids contained in goat milk are believed to have rejuvenating effects on skin cells and the rich butterfat softens and moisturizes. Each bar of Fourth Century Farms Goat Milk Soap contains over 1oz. of pure, fresh goat milk along with our own proprietary blends of carrier, essential oils and fragrance oils.

Why does each bar look a little different?

Each bar of Fourth Century Farms Soap is hand crafted from start to finish.  In addition, each bar is made from over 1oz of our own raw goat milk.  This combination means that each batch will exhibit subtle variations from one another.  The exact composition of the milk varies based upon the season and diet of the animals.  Each batch is hand-mixed, hand-poured and hand-smoothed.  This leaves a unique look and feel to each bar.
